My thesis deals with the novel Ladies, written in 2007 by the Swedish author Mara Lee. When published, it was received as a book belonging to the chick lit genre but still got good reviews. This combination is really unusual and awoke my interest in the novel. My thesis is therefore an analysis whether Ladies can be considered a chick lit novel or not, and in what way it is similar to or differs from the genre. I start my thesis with an overview of former research of chick lit and what earlier was called trivial literature.

Jag har arbetat med att producera ett informationsmaterial för nya hyresgäster hos hyresvärden Ydewalls i Katrineholm. Jag har använt mina kunskaper inom informationsdesign, textdesign och grafisk form för att utforma materialet.    Syftet med informationsmaterialet är att ge de nya hyresgästerna den information som de kan tänkas behöva under tiden de bor i lägenheten. Ydewalls vill genom att förbättra sitt material minska antalet onödiga förfrågningar från hyresgästerna.   Jag har arbetat efter min huvudfråga: hur skapas ett informationsmaterial utifrån de principer som finns inom informationsdesign? För att få svar på min fråga använde jag mig av metoder som litteraturstudier, komparation, deskription, enkätundersökning samt utprovningar.

Under våren 2008 utförde jag mitt examensarbete på Utvecklingsverkstaden, inom Volvo Construction Equipment i Eskilstuna. Uppdraget bestod i att presentera förslag på ett skyltsystem som skulle vara modernt, professionellt utformat och ha ett enhetligt utseende. Den befintliga skyltparken var kraftigt eftersatt och föråldrad.  Syftet formulerades till att utforma förslag på ett tydligt skyltsystem som skulle representera aktuell avdelning och dess verksamhet. Syftet innefattade även att ta fram övergripande riktlinjer om placering, för varje kategori av skyltar.

This study investigated relationships between high level language functions and phonological working memory in adults by correlating results oftests in a test battery used for investigating subtle language disorders and digit span task results. Results of two digit span tasks were analyzed in relation to demographic factors. 103 subjects without neurological disease, 20 ? 79 years old, participated. Significant correlations were found between the digit span tasks and most of the tests.

Syftet med denna studie har varit att beskriva och förstå hur ett antal elever och lärare i gymnasieskolan uppfattar lärmiljöns betydelse för främjande av utveckling inom läs- och skrivområdet. Undersökningen belyser självbildens och motivationens betydelse för utvecklingen samt på vilket sätt eleverna är delaktiga vid utformningen av undervisningen vid svårigheter i läsning och skrivning.  Forskningen har en kvalitativ design där information har inhämtats via intervjuer som har genomförts med fem elever och fem lärare i gymnasieskolan.  Resultatet av studien visar att faktorer i lärmiljön har betydelse för utveckling i läs- och skrivområdet. Eleverna önskar att gymnasieskolan bättre lyssnar till deras egna tankar kring hur lärmiljön ska utformas och lärarna önskar sig större kunskaper i området för att kunna möta eleverna.

In industrial control systems PID-control remains the prevalent strategy, also for processes that would benefit from model based control. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate whether model based control can be readily implemented in an industrial control system. To this end a simulated surge tank with a simulated industrial control system is studied. For evaluation two scenarios with specified objectives are selected.Following a review of LQR and versions of MPC, Predictive Functional Control (PFC) is considered the most suitable for implementation. PFC is a form of MPC developed with industrial applications in mind and therefore has several advantages for implementation in an industrial control system.

Saproxylic lichens in managed forests have less substrate available than in unmanaged forests due to the shortage of dead wood. However, a suitable substrate for these lichens could be dead branches on living trees. To this date, there has not been any systematically collected data about theabundance of dead branches on living trees and the lichens growing on these branches in managed forests. The aim of this study was to see where dead branches were located on living trees of Pinus sylvestris and Picea abies, how large the surface area of these branches was and what lichens grewof wood on these branches. The activation of the new frequencycontrol should be preformed in Vattenfall's operations centers (DC) to minimizecommunication delay. Studier har visat att det finns ett samband mellan syskonplacering och locus of control, medan andra studier inte funnit något samband. Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka relationen mellan syskonplacering, kön och locus of control ur ett hälsoperspektiv hos gymnasieelever i årskurs 3. I undersökningen deltog 147 gymnasielever ifrån fem skolor i Kronobergs län. Resultatet visade att kön och syskonplacering samvarierade med intern health locus of control (F= 3,01;p< 0,03; ES= 6,2) och att syskonplacering och kön tillsammans inte visade någon signifikant inverkan på extern health locus of control (F= 2,20;p=<0,09; ES= 4,6).
